How does online tutoring work?

Students meet with their tutors through Google Meet for 60 minute sessions, which are tailored to the individual needs of the student.


All tutors are equipped with advanced learning technology which allows for collaborative writing on shared screens.


After each session, tutors post notes summarizing what was covered in a session, any suggestions they have, and can share links and documents through these notes.

What will a tutor help my student with?

Students typically work with their tutor on homework, studying for tests, re-teaching topics, getting additional practice with new topics, and reinforcing foundational skills.

As tutors get to know student ability levels better, they can gauge areas of strengths and weaknesses and use this data to focus sessions on areas of need. 

All of our tutors are NYS Certified Teachers who are trained in the current learning standards and curriculum and use that knowledge, paired with student needs, to drive session focus.

How many sessions per week are recommend?

Once per week for students to maintain their current grade in class.

Twice per week for students who need help maintaining grades and require additional practice with foundational skills from past grades.

Three to four times per week for students who are performing 1-2 grade levels behind.

For Regents test prep, we recommend at least 10-20 hours of focused review in the three to four weeks leading up to an exam.

How do I register?

Parents can register their student by clicking the link below. Each new student is enrolled in a three-session trial period to ensure it is a good fit for all parties involved. 

Students will be automatically assigned a grade-level tutor who they can schedule sessions with through the learning portal.

How do I access a tutoring session?

The Google Meet link will appear directly on the homepage and on the calendar in both the parent and student views in the learning portal. See tutorial below.

How do I schedule sessions?

Sessions can be scheduled directly through the learning portal calendar up to 48 hours in advance. See tutorial below.

How do I cancel a session?

Sessions can be cancelled directly on the calendar through the learning portal up to 24 hours in advance. Any sessions cancelled within 24 hours of a scheduled session are forfeited. See tutorial below.

How do I share documents with the tutor?

Our learning portal offers a feature for sharing documents directly with your tutor through the Study Log. See the tutorial below for instructions on how to upload and email documents. 

How much does tutoring cost?

We offer packages at various price points to suit your needs. We strive to stay competitive so we are able to help more families while compensating our tutors fairly for their expertise. Click the link below to view our tutoring packages. 

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, we use Afterpay to offer payment plans of 6 or 12 months for our packages.
